We encourage members to frequently monitor this Waiver Tracker, which provides status updates on federal & state waivers sought and approved by NJHA: http://www.njha.com/Coronavirus/Waiver-Tracker
Healthcare facilities can access a template letter and table to request a waiver under Section 1135 of the Social Security Act. The waiver will allow facilities to delay inspection, testing, maintenance and certain drills required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The letter must be modified to include the health care organization’s information.The table, which should be submitted with the letter, gives guidance on how requirements should be modified during the COVID-19 emergency.

He is also a 25 year member of the Facility Guidelines Institute-Health Facilities Guidelines Committee, served as Vice Chairman of the 2018 edition and is the newly appointed Chairman of the 2022 edition.

Randy Krivanek
VP Operations
Randy Krivanek has spent 30 years in Healthcare Facilities Management. Beginning his career with Kidde and Honeywell he then moved to Christ Hospital in Jersey City in 1985 and served as their Director of Facilities/Security/Emergency Management until 2012. He then assumed responsibilities for facilities at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NJ. During his tenure at Riverview Medical Center he was directly responsible for the largest P4P healthcare project in NJ. After project completion and commissioning he accepted a position at DCO Energy as Operations Manager. His employment history has involved him construction and operations projects requiring phasing, logistics, and financial management.
In his role as VP of Operations, Mr. Krivanek is responsible for the oversight and development of Quality Assurance programs. He also oversees the commissioning of installed systems and their integration to existing systems and components.

Mr. Uhaze is a licensed architect specializing in healthcare facility design, and is currently the owner and operator of Health Facilities Design Consulting, providing building codes and health facility design guidance to facility owners and designers.
For 31 years he was employed by the State of New Jersey. During that period, he was employed by both the Department of Health and the Department of Community Affairs as a licensing compliance inspector, a plan reviewer for the Facilities Construction and Monitoring Unit, Supervisor of Health Facilities Construction and as the Chief of the Bureau of Construction Project Review, overseeing the technical staff responsible for the review of all State licensed health care facilities. He retired from State service at the end of 2015.
